Permixa

An open-source Identity & Access Management framework for ASP.NET Core applications.

Published on NuGet and ready to install and integrate directly into .NET applications.

dotnet add package Permixa.AspNetCore --prerelease

Why I Built Permixa

Permixa started from a recurring backend problem: rebuilding authentication, authorization, sessions, and verification workflows from scratch across different projects.

I built it as a reusable framework so these foundations can be integrated instead of reimplemented every time.

What It Provides

  • Authentication
  • Authorization
  • JWT & Refresh Tokens
  • Sessions
  • RBAC
  • Fine-grained Permissions
  • User Permission Overrides
  • Verification & MFA
  • Security Auditing
  • Rate Limiting
  • Optional Redis Caching

How It Is Designed

Permixa uses a modular structure that keeps the core separate from persistence and external integrations, allowing applications to adopt only the components they need and add providers such as Redis or Resend when required.

  1. Core IAM
  2. ASP.NET Core Integration
  3. Optional Integrations

Redis · Resend

Beyond Traditional RBAC

Permixa combines RBAC with fine-grained permissions and per-user overrides, using clear rules to resolve effective access.

  1. Roles
  2. Permissions
  3. User Overrides
  4. Effective Access

Documentation & Distribution

Integration details, package setup, configuration, and examples are documented on GitHub and NuGet.
